  • @kathie - That would depend on a lot of things.

@Zach - No, that's what omnivores are; they eat damn near anything and the protein density is much higher in meat than in vegetable matter. I'm also a scientist.

  • I enjoyed these photos. As I write this comment, there is a squirrel outside hanging upside down on a tree munching on some sunflower seeds I put out for him earlier. I love animals, but I'm not a vegetarian.

  • I think all the pictures are very cool

-@Claude- The point you were trying to make was that eating meat is what sets humans apart from monkeys, correct? But, it has been shown that neanderthals, who were genetically our closest relatives, had a much more narrow and carnivorous diet than humans. Our taste for a much more varied plant and and fish(meat) diet allowed us to thrive in ways other could not. Which makes us YES! OMNIVORES, but your emphasis was on humans eating meat (specifically the cute animals pictured above) , but if it were not for our ability to eat and eventually cultivate a variety crops we would still be running around scavenging carcasses and carving on cave walls if not already extinct. The high protein theory does not hold weight considering we were obviously not the first animals to eat meat.

  • Hey! Cute animal pictures! And what's this?.....A comments section? Let's see just how far down these comments go before someone makes it into a vegan/carnivore debate.....whaddya know....first comment.

    Go figure.

Look. I'm not a hunter. Nor am I a farmer. I eat meat AND vegetables as well as dairy and grains. I've been known to own a leather jacket (hey, it was the 80s) and two of my belts are made of leather. I would never buy anything made of fur and the crushing videos make me sick (that lady needs to get on some medication). But, when the still primitive tribes of this world are preparing a meal whose main course is NOT tofurkey but instead was likely out running around the previous day, I feel as though we're still on the right track with our diets.

Although, if someone could introduce me to a vegetable product that tasted exactly like and had the protein content of a grilled ribeye, I would consider giving the vegetarian lifestyle a shot. And no....there aren't enough seasonings in the world to make soy curd taste like anything but ass.

  • What's a matter with you Claude Miller? What does looking at interesting pictures have to do with eating animals? You are an idiot.

I see quite a few animals that would eat you in these pictures, Mr Kitten Eater.

  • Oh my this gave me a great big smile! They are adorable pictures! Meat is bad for you anyway. Hey people did you ever wonder why americans are so overweight? Lets see growth hormones, radiation, pesticides are all part of their make up especially cows. Now People eat these cows, pigs, chickens that have been souped up to grow faster, get big faster in order to meet the worlds carnvor appitite. mmmm Americans consume mega doses. mmm and now the nation has a weight problem? Don't eat meat for one month (it takes 24 hours just for a steak to digest) You'll see--You'll feel better and these cuties can go on bringing smiles!

  • @ treppert

    That is UTTERLY incorrect.
People get obese from eating too many simple carbs (sugar, white bread, white pasta etc) and not doing any exercise. Why do you think low carb diets work so well?
Humans have been consuming meat a whole lot longer than they have been eating wheat, and we weren't really designed to eat it.
    Meat ftw.
