The Secrets To Success

Deep in our hearts, we all have things we wish to accomplish. But very few of us have the courage to take the steps required to succeed. We pass the blame to several things, such as our circumstances or other people and end up in a coffin with regrets and unfulfilled dreams.

Beneath it all, what is it that stops us from achieving? What is it that stops us from succeeding in our business; succeed in getting our kids educated or anything else we wish to do? It is our own shortsightedness, lack of knowledge of the preparation required or lack of preparation. We look for the “magic bullet” that will bring us success. Here is the secret – We are looking in the wrong direction.

No matter where you start, you can become a leader the instant you realize that success and prosperity come from within yourself, not from some magical method. There are no sure-fire tools to success or some guaranteed method. If there is anything that is sure to make you succeed, it is your persistence and your mind set. It begins in your head and goes deep inside and is called the “attitude of abundance.”

Your attitude has a lot to do with your success. Attitude is not only about your state of mind but about taking action. It is not enough to think what it takes; you need to do what it takes. I know it is not always easy to stay positive. I have not always been the positive person that I am now, but I worked on it and I found changes taking place within me that made me feel good from the inside and prompted me to take steps in the right direction.

Once you develop this attitude, no one can take it away and you will find never-before-seen opportunities everywhere. You will soon realize that your success depends only on one person – You! There is nobody to blame. You are the master of your own fate. You are the one who determines what works for you. Make sure you do not give up that power.

Do not fear failures. Two steps forward and one step backward is still one step ahead. Realize that every step you take along the road to achievement is profitable in terms of experience learned.

Learning and gaining knowledge is a sort of preparation. Write down why you are doing what you are doing. It is difficult to write down what you really want in life but reading it over and over again helps and when things get tough, serves as a reminder of what you are aiming at. Our minds act funny and fill up with negative thoughts at times. We need to be constantly reminded, just like taking a refresher course. Even though we are sure of what we need, how our thoughts should be and what we are supposed to do, outside influences affect our thinking and attitude at times. This happens to all of us at some time or another. Writing down on paper and reading it when we need it often helps us stay focused and motivated.

Abraham Lincoln once said that if he had eight hours to chop down a tree, he would spend all of six hours to sharpen his axe and only two hours to actually chop the tree down. These are the traits leaders are made up of. Spend more time in preparation.

If you want to be successful, then you would have chosen an area where you wish to succeed. Look into yourself and understand if you have the necessary equipment to go ahead, in terms of knowledge, time and plan to implement. Gain the necessary acumen and then sit down to lay out a plan.

Are you wondering if I have been sitting out in the sun for too long? May be, but I can assure you that I have seen several failures over the years but then, I have also seen and read about several successes. The passion to succeed needs to be developed and it can be done with the right attitude.
