I bet you have seen many toys that look very realistic, but what about real small creatures that look like the sweetest most beautiful and very professional toys? The post from today is pretty spontaneous. Making shopping earlier today I saw little and cute long-coated Chihuahua and for some reason it made me feel so happy and that little creature made my day. The Affenpinscher is a terrier-like toy breed of dog. It’s an interesting fact that Affe means monkey in German and some say that this dog has a monkey-like expression. Weighing 7 to 9 pounds (3-4 kg) and not exceeding 11 inches (24-30 cm) in height the Affenpinscher has harsh rough coat which is shaggier over the head and shoulders forming a mane, with shorter coat over the back and hind quarters. The dogs are active, adventurous, curious, and stubborn, but they are also fun-loving and playful. The breed is confident, lively, affectionate towards family members and is also very protective of them. This loyal little dog enjoys being with its family.
The Boston Terrier is a lively, highly intelligent, smooth coated, short-tailed, well balanced dog, brindle, seal or black in color and evenly marked with white. According to international breed standard, the dog should weigh no less than 10 pounds and no more than 25 pounds. Boston Terriers usually stand 15-17 inches at the withers.
The Chihuahua is the smallest breed of dog in the world and is named after the state of Chihuahua in Mexico, that’s a a graceful, alert, swift-moving little dog with saucy expression, compact, and with terrier-like qualities of temperament. Breed standards for this dog do not generally specify a height, only a weight and a description of their overall proportions. Generally, the height ranges between 6 and 10 inches (15 and 25 cm) at the withers though some dogs grow as tall as 12 to 15 inches (30 to 38 cm). Both British and American breed standards state that a Chihuahua must not weigh more than 6.0 pounds (2.7 kg), however the British standard also states that a weight of 2–4 lb (0.91–1.8 kg) is preferred and that if two dogs are equally good in type, the more diminutive or smaller is preferred.
The Kennel Club (UK) and American Kennel Club (USA) recognize two varieties of Chihuahua: the smooth-coat and the long-coat. They are genetically the same breed, although you will never find both in the same litter and in many kennel clubs, including the KC and AKC, they are judged in separate categories. Unlike many long-haired breeds, long-haired Chihuahuas require no trimming and minimal grooming. Contrary to popular belief, the long-haired breed also typically sheds less than their short-haired counterparts. It may take up to two or more years before a full long-haired coat develops.
The Chinese Crested Dog is one of the smallest (10–13 lbs) hairless breed of dog. Like most hairless dog breeds, the Chinese Crested comes in two varieties, both with and without fur, which are born in the same litter; the Hairless and the Powderpuff. The amount of body hair on the hairless variety varies quite extensively, from the true hairless which has very little or no body hair and furnishings, to what is called a ‘hairy hairless’, which if left ungroomed can sometimes grow a near-full coat of hair. The lifespan of a Chinese Crested Dog can be quite impressive. Many well-cared-for Cresteds live to see 15 years or more.
The Papillon is a small, friendly, elegant breed of dog of the Spaniel type, distinguished from other breeds by its large butterfly-like ears. The Papillon is one of the oldest of the toy Spaniels and was bred for companionship. The height is around 8-11 inches (20-28 cm), over 11 inches is a fault and over 12 inches is a disqualification from the conformation show ring. Weight is about 7-10 pounds (3–5 kg), but they can also get to (14- 16), pounds at the heaviest.
The Lhasa Apso is a non-sporting dog breed originating in Tibet. It was bred as an interior sentinel in the Buddhist monasteries, who alerted the monks to any intruders who entered. Lhasa is the capital city of Tibet and also is a word in the Tibetan language meaning “bearded,” so Lhasa Apso simply means “long-haired Tibetan dog.” Male Lhasa Apso should ideally be 10.75 inches at the withers and weight about 14-18 pounds (6–8 kg) while the females are slightly smaller.Lhasa Apsos are independent as well as companion dogs who want to please their owners. Unique personality characteristics of Lhasa Apsos have gained them a reputation as being a very emotive breed that in some cases prove themselves to be completely fearless. They enjoy climbing hills and furniture, as well as burrowing into caves.
A Bichon Frisé which literally meaning curly lap dog in French, is a small breed of dog of the Bichon type. They are popular pets that require daily grooming. They are happy, playful, intelligent, mischievous and very obedient if training is started early and continued consistently. The dog weighs around 10-18 lbs and stands 9-12 inches (23-30 cm) at the withers.

What about my favorite, Pomeranian? A standard size is an absolute joy to own. The standards are not temperamental, aggressive, playful and great with kids.

Don't forget the miniature dachshunds! Especially the kanichen dachshunds are very small.

What about the Schipperke? They were bred in Belgium as ratters on their barges. They are happy, affectionate, stubborn and charming little dogs. They are about the size of a Pom or Pekenise (another small dog you left out, and what about the miniature poodle?) and come in one color, black. They have the teeth of a shark, the face of a fox, the mane of a lion, the butt of a bear...and tiny feet. They are bossy if you let them be, but they are the most confident, happy dogs I've met.
There is also a relatively new small dog breed called Mi-Ki. They are long haired, with "up" of "down" ears and usually weigh between 8 to 10 pounds. I have a 6 year old Mi-Ki with "up" ears like a Papillon and she weighs 5 lbs. She may be small but she the boss of our Doberman.
I bought a long hair chihuahua at 6 months old and thougt he woul not get much bigger. He now weight 18lbs. stands 10-12 tall an 18 in long...I woul like to see a picture of othe chihuahua's this size an any respose from other people who have the same size chihuahua. I have certified papers.
