The Hamptons

Located along the east end of Long Island, New York, the Hamptons comprises of towns of East Hampton and Southampton. Anybody who’s somebody owns summer homes there and is a perfect place for a short getaway when the mercury rises. The place is known for the Tiana Beach, with its active sports life and the rocking nightlife with several bars, clubs and world-class restaurants, which are frequented by the connoisseurs of good living. Just the place to rub shoulders with financial tycoons, media moguls, glamorous socialites, Hollywood celebs like Steven Spielberg, notorious personalities and famous singers.

Saint Tropez

This was earlier the main commercial port for France, but has now transformed into the most hedonistic party town in the French Rivera. It has always attracted fashion stalwarts and was catapulted to fame, with the visits of French actress, Brigette Bardot. Come October, you will find several of Europe’s most luxurious yachts and the filthy rich flocking into this beach town to fill the five-kilometer coast line with their sun-bathing bodies. The nightclub scene is hot with regulars like Leonardo DiCaprio, Claudia Schiffer and several others having a rocking time there. Republican national committee spent US $75,062 at Neiman Marcus and US $49,425 at Saks Fifth Avenue in September – all for outfitting Sarah Palin and her family appropriately. The RNC is also said to have spent $4,716 on makeup and hair through September.

Living up to the reputation of being the “party of the rich,” Republicans are having a tough time covering up rumors that their female vice-presidential nominee spent huge amounts of “campaign” money for a stylish wardrobe. Sarah Palin may look gorgeous, but her looks come with a heavy price tag at up-market stores. This dressing up of Palin seems to have started in September.

As expected, this financial disclosure does not seem to have gone down too well with the public and the media are having a field day exposing Sarah Palin, and thriving on disqualifying all her claims of being a simple hockey mom from a small town in Alaska. This sentiment is reflected in the thoughts of the common man, who in spite of understanding the need for public figures to be well-dressed cannot really accept this sort of extravaganza. This behavior is said to undercut the recent Republican stand of rooting for Joe the Plumber.

The preening of a public figure in politics is nothing new and the story in the US goes back a long way to John Kennedy, whose spruced up image was well-known to all. This show, for which voting has officially ended, will select 20 finalists from among the thousands of clamoring contestants. The idea behind the show is to find a friend for Paris Hilton, who says she is fed up of all the haters and wants to have someone she can trust.

The website, ParisBFF.com has seen thousands of visitors and more than six million page views from the time it went live five weeks ago, casting their votes to win a place in the top 20.

Maria Carey, the name that rings a million bells in the hearts of her fans, as much for her beauty as her talent, who is described as a “diva” by many, is all set to take the world by storm again with her physics savvy E=MC2.

I am sure this formula needs no explanation, what with her status of superstardom. E=MC2 is her latest album, that was released recently on April 15.

Maria Carey is known to embrace extremes and this album, which is her tenth studio album, is no different. The songs start in a club and end in a church.

With the release of E=MC2, Maria climbed one more step up the ladder of fame, by getting closer to the Beatles, who hold the No. 1 title for the most Hot 100 singles with 20, whereas Maria is at No. 2 currently with 18, with her new chart-topper “Touch My Body.” Prior to this release, she was at 17 and tied with Elvis Presley.

In spite of having whisked past Elvis Presley, Maria has a great deal of love and respect, which she expressed as, “I really can never put myself in the category of people who have not only revolutionized music but also changed the world,” Carey told The Associated Press on Tuesday via phone from London. “That’s a completely different era and time … I’m just feeling really happy and grateful.”

“For me, in my mind the accomplishment is just that much sweeter,” she said. “In terms of my ethnicity, always feeling like an outsider, always feeling different … for me it’s about saying, ‘Thank you Lord, for giving me the faith to believe in myself when other people had written me off.’” (more…)

For those that believe in the stars of the astrological variety, the often relentless optimism of the Sagittarius that Brittney nurtures has been in many ways her downfall and led to behavior that even culminated with a suicide attempt a few years ago.

For the numerous fans that wished Britney would pull her act together and get back on her own feet, and begin to understand the world, which she is as an individual and what she really wants and feels, it does not seem to be happening.

In the past year, Britney was shown on camera to be indulging in bizarre behavior, such as shaving her head, wearing skirts without underwear and leaving her car on a busy road after getting a flat tire. All these things combined with her hospitalizations contributed to her losing custody of her two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James.

Currently, ex-husband Kevin Federline is the sole custodian of her two little boys. Britney was allowed short visits beginning in late February after having not seen them for nearly two months. This happened because Spears and Federline modified the court order to give spears her visitation rights.

Recently, a court order from a Los Angeles Court, ordered Britney to foot the bill and pay nearly $400,000 to all the lawyers that were involved in her affairs during the past three months.

If you follow entertainment news (and how can you not with all the celebrity gossip out there) you already know the latest in the Britney Spears saga. It appears the pop princess has gone completely off the deep end locking herself in a bedroom with her young son for hours and having to be removed by ambulance. There was rumored talk of suicide and now the front pages are screaming that there may in fact be a cause for Britney’s mayhem. Her friends and family claim she has an untreated bipolar condition.

What is Bipolar?
Bipolar is still better known as manic depressive behavior. In a bipolar condition, an individual experiences tremendous highs or manic periods of energy and emotions followed by deep lows or periods of depression. There is not a set time frame for the ups and downs of bipolar. In some people, periods of high can last for weeks followed by a month long bout of depression. In others, only small cycles of up and down occur but they may occur more frequently.

Untreated Bipolar Condition
An untreated bipolar condition can destroy a life. The manic periods can include lavish spending and wild, promiscuous partying and sex. The lows can bring a person into a period of confusion, restlessness, sadness and feelings of worthlessness. Drugs and improper treatment can make the symptoms much worse – to the point where suicide seems to be a good option.

Is Britney Bipolar?
So the real question is – does Britney actually show signs of being bipolar? There are many kinds of bipolar disease, but Britney certainly does show some symptoms. She has allegedly contemplated suicide, has gone through periods of apathy and lows. She’s (obviously) been rather promiscuous and has partied to extremes – even on the days she’s supposed to be in court battling for her children.

Britney has made very poor decisions and can’t seem to stop her behavior. Much of this does ring true for bipolar disorders, but unfortunately for Britney much of her erratic behavior falls under a different category as well. (more…)

It seems as if Santa’s work has been done for him this year. His naughty and nice list, at least for some of the top celebrities in Hollywood, has been plastered all over newsstand practically since last Christmas! The American public probably knows more about the personal lives and social fiascos of their favorite big screen star than they do about wars and natural disasters happening on the other side of the globe! Who’s Tops the Naughty List?
Ask any boy or girl, even some as young as two years old, who tops Santa’s naughty list this year. You may be surprised! They are less likely to name classic villains such as Darth Vader or the Grinch from Dr. Seuss’s classic, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, or even Swiper the Fox from popular children’s show Dora the Explorer, and will instead recite names from the recent covers of the magazines in the grocery story check-out aisles.

Britney Spears claimed the number one spot on the list. Joining her at the top of the list is fellow “bad girl” Paris Hilton, who was plastered on the front page for her three weeks spent in, and for a short time out, of jail. Farther down the list come Lindsay Lohan and Beyonce. (more…)

In the tradition of teen pop princesses, Miley Cyrus, or Hannah Montana as her fans know her, is on top of the world. She has dolls, action figures, and a concert series all based on her hit Disney Channel show, Hannah Montana. While her music is not mainstream, it is extremely well-known and popular for her target demographic. If you’re under the age of twelve and female, you already know everything there is to know about Miley aka Hannah.

The Show
The show, Hannah Montana, features a young girl who is perfectly normal, perhaps even a bit awkward, by day, but at night, she sheds her boring persona and becomes a famous pop star – Hannah Montana. Of course this transformation is secret, and only her closest friends know Miley (Stewart on the show) is really a stage goddess. They do such a good job of keeping her secret, Miley’s enjoyed multiple seasons of success.

The Concerts
Miley/Hannah is fourteen and enthusiastic and Miley the actress is the daughter of country music star Billy Ray Cyrus. She is quite talented vocally, and when those vocals combine with the ruthless Disney promotion, Hannah Montana has become one of the absolute hottest stars around – at least for the elementary bunch. Even for a tarty pop star, Britney has certainly fallen far and fallen fast. Her fans were excited, if a little confused, when she announced her engagement to Keven Federline (KFed.) They were thrilled when she revealed she was pregnant, and thrilled again a short time later when Jayden joined his brother Sean. Things were looking up for the Federline family, and then the house of cards collapsed.

Britney was still at the top of her game when she married KFed. Her first pregnancy was well documented and along the way we began to understand more about Britney through the media, her interviews and the reality show that followed the Federlines for a short time. No longer was Britney a diva on stage, she was a real person – perhaps a little too real for most of us.

Britney as a Mother
Britney’s parenting choices have been laid bare for the world to see. And apparently she isn’t making very good ones. On October 1, Britney lost custody of her two children due to her alleged drug and alcohol abuse and failing to meet the demands of the court. For many concerned citizens and fans, this decision has been a long time in coming.

Britney’s son Sean Preston is only two years old. In his short life, he has fallen from a highchair on his head, ridden with Britney sans carseat and seemingly spent more time with his “manny” than his mother. His brother Jayden arrived just a short time following his birth. Britney is now 25 with two children and a completely out of control lifestyle. Diana’s oldest son, William, is heir to the throne in Great Britain. As he has aged, the female population of the world has watched with great interest. William may be young, but he is certainly good looking.

Young girls from any number of countries have dreamed of marrying William and becoming queen. Now one might actually get a chance. Of course, the royal family has said nothing of the matter, other than the wave away any speculation as rumors, but there is definitely something to be seen between Prince William and his girlfriend, Kate Middleton.

Rumors have been rampart for years about the young couple. They met in school, and dated for years before suddenly breaking up. The marriage rumors in 2006 had grown so strong William reported wanted nothing to do with them. Friends of the young couple claim the two broke up mutually as they were ready to focus on different things.

After the break-up, Kate refused to talk about it. She turned down millions by not taking on a book deal or interview, and the media nicknamed Kate, Her Shyness. But, her silence was not shyness. Instead she was simply protecting the interests of someone she cared about.

At the Concert for Diana in July, Kate was seated behind William, and many believe this is a sign that the two are back together. Many insiders are starting to leak the news that the two are officially back together, although they have not made a public appearance together or announced that they are dating. (more…)
