How Do You Know If You Have A Toxic Colon?

Thursday, August 21st, 2008

By now you know that it is not possible to “live” with a toxic colon because it will not let you live. Yes, it can get very bad if neglected and lead to a host of debilitating health issues, including obesity, severe gastrointestinal dysfunction, gum disease, food allergies as well as recurring depression. But, how do you know if you are a victim?

You will certainly know when you cannot see your knees anymore – due to overweight. That sounds scary but it is a fact.

There are other ways of finding out the condition of the colon. One obvious sign is difficult and painful bowel movements. According to Robert Gray, a nutritional counselor, “Few people have any inkling as to how much old, hardened feces are chronically present within their bodies.”

Transit time can also be used to measure the health of a bowel, with the optimal transit time being 18-20 hours. Other symptoms of a toxic bowel are bloating and gas, weight gain, lower back pain, headaches, fatigue, depression, dark circles under the eyes, sallow complexion, abnormal body odor, tender abdomen and bad breath.

While observing the symptoms is essential, nutritionists also advise undergoing tests to get more detailed information about the colon condition. These tests may also help determine the treatment that is needed. (more…)

Will Sun Vaporize Earth?

Wednesday, June 4th, 2008

The Sun is a Star that warms our planet and provides the light by which we see and is essential for the life on Earth, is what we know from all our years of education.

According to astronomers at the University of Sussex, things are slowly changing and this gigantic nuclear reactor will probably destroy the earth by vaporizing it in about 7.6 billion years, according to their calculations. They believe that the slow expansion of the sun will make the temperature on the Earth to rise.

They say this can be avoided if the Earth’s orbit is changed. Earlier, in their previous studies, it was said that the Earth may escape the final destruction, although it will be burnt to cinder. But then, at that point of time, astronomers did not take into account the drag caused by the outer atmosphere of the dying sun.

Dr. Robert Smith, the lead astronomer said, “We showed previously that, as the Sun expanded, it would lose mass in the form of a strong wind, much more powerful than the current solar wind. This would reduce the gravitational pull of the Sun on the Earth, allowing the Earth’s orbit to move outwards, ahead of the expanding Sun. If that were the only effect the Earth would indeed escape final destruction. However, the tenuous outer atmosphere of the Sun extends a long way beyond its visible surface, and it turns out the Earth would actually be orbiting within these very low density outer layers. The drag caused by the low-density gas is enough to cause the Earth to drift inwards and finally to be captured and vaporized by the Sun.” (more…)

Drinking Water - Recycled From The Toilet?

Thursday, May 22nd, 2008

Predictions of a world without water, which only a short while ago seemed cannot really happen, are all turning into reality. All the talk about humans robbing the environment of its natural resources is becoming crystal clear as we see the changes taking place right in front of our eyes. It is disturbing to imagine the legacy we are leaving behind for our children, all because of abusing nature.

US grapples with water shortages and in a desperate bid to overcome the crisis, is turning to solutions that are hard to stomach for most people.

Los Angeles mayor recently announced his proposal of turning sewage water into drinking water. This move comes at a stage when California is on the verge of its worst water scarcity crisis in decades. Even in San Diego, the city council has plans of starting a sewage water recycling project. Florida is also planning a recycling system that would pump 23 million gallons a day of purified wastewater into the ground; the water will travel to a supply well and will be taken back as drinking water.

Currently waste water is being recycled by many cities, such as San Diego and Denver, for use in irrigation and industries. Other cities such as Florida and Tampa Bay area desalinate seawater, which is actually more expensive than recycling.

Cities considering the sewage water recycling projects have a long way to go. This endeavor called as “toilet to tap” by critics has received heavy resistance in the past due to the “yuck factor” it involves as well as the cost.

According to industry experts, the idea of recycling sewage water, using intense filtering mechanism and chemical treatments, can provide water that is much purer than the tap water people are drinking now. (more…)
