Phew! What a week it’s been. We are now on a new more powerful server bought from Hostgator.com and it comes with 8GB RAM. 500 GB Disk Space and 4 a Core Xeon Processor. This means much more space, speed and reliability.
However, the transition, I must say has been very painful, all thanks to Hostgator support. Our site was down for eight long hours solely due to the complete lack of co-operation from their support staff.
I sincerely apologize to all our visitors, who sent disappointed mails and to all others who may have tried accessing the site during this period. We tried our best, but sometimes things are just not in our hands. Wonder what would have happened if not for the intervention of Chad Bean and Brent Oxley who helped us get back online again.
The good news for our visitors is that the site is loading much, much faster now, which makes all the trouble worth it.

Hi Hasan,
I had one of my best guys look into this closer and we discovered exactly what happened! When you and chad checked the server and verified everything was working your mysql version was 5.1
When you put your ticket in to have awstats stats update enabled the problem happened. To turn this feature on it’s like a 5 second thing that is done done from the “tweak settings” in whm. You simply checkmark update awstats and click save. There’s no way to screw this up on our end.
What we discovered is that this is a major cpanel bug with mysql 5.1
The bug is that any time anything is changed from whm in tweak settings it will actually downgrades the servers mysql to 4.0 This is a new cpanel bug that we weren’t aware of and is what caused your site to go offline.
Your server is currently on 5.0 mysql which we’ve tested and this bug doesn’t happen with. This means you can do changes in tweak settings without cpanel’s bug kicking in and downgrading you to 4.0
I’m truly sorry for what happened. I don’t think there’s anyway either one of us could have planned for this crazy bug in cpanel with 5.0 I have gone ahead and credited you a free month for the problems you’ve had during this transition.
