About Apptronik
Apptronik is a humanoid robotics company developing Apollo, a general-purpose humanoid robot for industrial applications, founded in 2016 and headquartered in Austin, Texas as a spinoff from the Human Centered Robotics Lab at the University of Texas at Austin. Founded by Jeff Cardenas, Nick Paine, and Luis Sentis, Apptronik manufactures Apollo, a 5-foot-8 humanoid robot designed for warehousing, manufacturing, and logistics with notable safety features including force-controlled actuators and built-in collision detection. Apollo is deployed in pilot programs at Mercedes-Benz manufacturing plants and GXO Logistics warehouses. Apptronik partnered with Google DeepMind in 2025 to integrate Gemini Robotics models into Apollo, and raised 350 million Series A at a 2.5 billion valuation in early 2026.
