Core Group One, Inc. is an advertising and marketing agency headquartered in Honolulu, Hawaii, established in July 2005 by Emi Anamizu and Jim Horiuchi. The agency was formed when WPP Group, the London-based parent company of Ogilvy & Mather, offered Anamizu and Horiuchi the opportunity to purchase Ogilvy & Mather Hawaii as WPP moved to divest its Hawaii advertising operations; Anamizu had served as CEO and Horiuchi as Creative Director at the firm before the acquisition. Core Group One opened its doors on September 1, 2005 as a locally owned and operated agency. In January 2013, Hendrix Miyasaki Shin joined Core Group One, bringing together branding strategy, creative services, account management, and traditional and social media marketing expertise under one roof. Anamizu, who holds master's degrees from the USC Annenberg School of Communication and the USC Leonard Davis School of Gerontology, brings more than 25 years of business and strategic marketing experience to the agency, having worked in San Francisco and Los Angeles before returning to Hawaii.
