Any of them can help you overcome your substance abuse issues, no matter where you are. Let’s take a look at 15 more examples of the best drug rehab centers in the world.

Note: These are meant to serve as examples. There are thousands of other treatment facilities available. While these are some of the best we’ve come across, they aren’t necessarily “the best of the best.” That’s why we’ve listed them here in alphabetical order rather than by any subjective ranking. We invite you to share other drug rehab centers that you feel are worth including in the comments following this article.

This comes at a steep price of around $105,000 for a two-week stay. The treatment includes a unique mix of traditional therapy with yoga, meditation and shiatsu.

15. Sierra by the Sea – Newport Beach, California

Sierra by the Sea, formerly called Sober Living by the Sea, is one of the top treatment centers in the world.  Since gender plays a role in all aspects of treatment, they offer separate men’s and women’s programs.  This increases the feelings of understanding and safety. The staff tailors a client’s program to suit their needs. It may include 12-step principles, CBT, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and more.

Recovering from drug addiction is not easy, but fortunately there are many clinics that use a variety of techniques for treatment.  What types of therapy do you think work best for drug addiction?  Do you have any thoughts on rehab clinics? Did you find success with one not on this list? Share your thoughts and experiences with us in the comments below.

  • It seems that only a very very small percentage of people who could afford those rehabs from this surface view. Getting an idea of what your list’s average cost would be might be very helpful.
The real question is how & where can average alcoholic-addict can go. Granted, had I known I could go to Thailand for 28-days for 7K instead of 32k for Tx Hill Country I might have jumped on it. But for the Grace of God there go I, 3 1/2 yrs of continuous sobriety later, without relapse thanks to La Hacienda Hospital.

  • Some interesting choice of rehab centers. There are many truly Life-Changing places on your list that deal with addiction with highest of care and professionalism.
HOWEVER, a far cheaper solution is creating a “Mindset of Rehab”. It is hard because the individual and the people closest to the individual have to play the largest part of pushing themselves together, enduring and persisting towards success no matter how long it takes. BUT THIS METHOD IS THE HEALTHIEST, CHEAPEST AND MOST EFFECTIVE THAN ANY OTHER, PERIOD.

You can heal depression by taking pills – drugs – but you don’t fix the problem, you just mask it with external factors. As soon as you stop taking your peals your problem will resurface eve more intensive than it was. If you want to heal DEPRESSION, ADDICTION, EMOTIONAL TRAUMA – YOU MUST FIRST DEAL WITH YOUR OWN MIND AND DEMONS. – here is a sample of solutions you may find useful – http://www.lifecoachcode.com/depression-treatment-in-7-simple-steps/

  • I was just wondering if these rehabs are actually changing those addicts or they are just making money out of it?

  • We highly appreciate your efforts in compiling list of top 15 rehab centers in the world. This will help patients and their families to locate a reputed rehab facility in their respective country.

  • This is a great list. I know many of these facilities are really good examples for what rehabilitation centers should be. I hope they are successful in using the attention they receive to help people gain the courage to enter places like these. Addiction can be such a scary thing and every little bit of awareness can help.

  • W some of the places look like a vacation wish i could of afforded something like this but in reality most addicts or alcoholics dont have that kind of money I didnt i spent every last dime on drugs and alcohol, when I was using I had to go through the state and get medical assistance and took forever and they sent me to a place with a 1000 people in it half were prison inmates who didnt take it serious they had no kind of nature walk or even got you out of the place for an hour or even a gym all they stressed was smoke cigarettes and tried keeping u on something most of the time which I kept denying making it almost impossible but I found the stength somehow.. to this day I dont know how I did it, coming off of Heroin Methadone Methamphetamine and Xanax extremely lethal and deadly combinations by itself let along trying to detox off of I had countless seizures convulsions and attempts of suicide I was literally a walking suicidal maniac if I owned a weapon I could say with 100% certainty that I would not be here I thank god everyday for the strenth he gave me at the most needed time in my life it took me about 6 months just to sleep at night and gain an appetite and about a year to feel somewhat normal I guess I dont think ill ever feel quite the same but im ok with that I did this to myself I am just happy to be alive and enjoy the small things in life what is like a drug to me now is pushing myself to the limit doing marathons and my work and family also I dedicate most of my free time to help people who are struggling like I was and it feels better than any drug I ever have done by far but I still get sad thinking how many other people out there that are struggling with addiction its depressing knowing a 15 year old kid can get Heroin easier than a pack of cigarettes these days its an ongoing never ending process but all you can do is help the ones who are seeking rehabilitation and try as hard as you can to get through to them while their going through this seemingly impossible task I know the first 15 times I went to rehab I really wasnt trying to hear anything and its hard to get through to somebody when their not all there but eventually like me you get that person that’s just desperate to do anything to stop using and willing to try anything and you can see in their eyes they dont have another run in them.. I try to stress to them that exercise helps immensely even if its walking your dog for 10 minutes anything at all boosts your confidence and helps with aches and discomfort your dealing with if you can do more even better another drink lots of water and healthy shakes orange juice ect. this helped me tremendously with energy I needed to get through the day and also helps clear your head to think more clearly and be more serious about what u got yourself into, eating healthy I know how hard it is to eat during detox and rehab. but you really have to do this try light food at first then graduate I started off eating just fruits and eggs in the morning, id say eat healthy but whatever you crave Eat! Get something in your stomach ice cream works wonders during detox also vitimins for obvious reasons, I also would go get a massage once or twice a week to push toxins out of your body and help with muscle tension, a Sonor def helps sweat toxins out and feels amazing, being out in nature helps with inspiration you need, talking to someone relieves stress and anxiety, sex is always giid and exercise but no need to stress over at this time in your life, a shower ir bath jacuzzi pool all good and relaxing, also helps keep up with hygiene and makes you feel better, getting out of the house this important being in one place just caused more depression and increases chance of relapse get out into the world even of its going to your local mall just walk around and interact with people helos take your mind off how awful you feel also gives you something to look forward to maybe meeting somebody keeping good and healthy appearance buying stuff for yourself besides drugs and alcohol, if you can take a vacation away from all the distractions and people places things you MUST change to be successful in recovery if you cant afford vacation or get away from job or family try finding places in your area that gets u away from everyday life, a lake go fishing, a zoo, mountains ocean, a nature walk, a museum, ect. being around nature gives you a whole new outtake on life I promise you, pretty much anything that doesnt involve your old way of life and isnt illegal is a plus for inspiration, I know its hard at first and you just want to lay around and do nothing during the detox and rehab process and that’s fine for the first week or so but after that you must start doing something productive in your life u already took the first step admitting you have a problem and the second step getting help now its time to be strong and finish what you started

  • Great List! My son attended Recovery Ways in Murray, Utah just outside of Salt Lake City. My family could not be more grateful of the amazing people at RW who helped to get our son back! They worked with him to create a personalized program that would help him succeed, and and gave him his own room so he could focus on changing his life. They also helped me work with my ins. co. so I could afford to get him the best treatment possible.

I recommend anyone seeking help for themselves or a loved one visit their website at the very least! http://www.recoveryways.com/

    They are life changers!

  • Dara truly has been a life-altering experience for me. Not only were my 1:1 meetings of great benefit, but also the interactions that took place during the group meetings were essential to my recovery. All of this hard emotional work was softened by good food, wonderful massages and a relaxed, natural atmosphere. I cant thank DARA enough.
